Sweet smell of success

Leading British fragrance house Pecksniff’s chooses Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks

What was the challenge?

Required a versatile set of trucks that could be adapted for specific jobs and handling processes.

Why this product(s)?

Customer wanted trucks that could manoeuvre around fragile products. compact design with a low service weight and small turning radius.

What was the outcome?

The new fleet made difficult movements safer and faster and ideal when handling fragile goods. A potent high efficiency/low emissions combination.

Switching to Mitsubishi Forklifts

To keep pace with ever-growing demand for product, the company recently moved to a new site in Brandon, Suffolk. Requiring a host of new materials handling equipment they consulted with the local Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks distributor.

Throughout the site goods need to be moved swiftly, but the nature and cost of the precious oils — sourced from all over the world — demand the utmost in smooth handling and fluidity of movement, often in the cleanest of environments.

We needed a fairly complex mix of machines that could undertake everything from robust outdoor work — such as unloading incoming wagons carrying raw materials — to the precise handling of delicate loads in confined spaces, often involving high lifts and accurate positioning.

The best solution

And it’s here where the SENSiA and EDiA excel. Created by a multi-award-winning design team, they share many key technologies.

Sophisticated software examines and analyses real-time data — automatically adjusting the truck’s parameters for operations that are safe and productive. For drivers, this means that they can expect the same, predictable response regardless of load weight.

Adding to the mix of warehouse products are four PBPL power pallet trucks. These have a particularly tight turning radius making them ideal for use in confined spaces. In areas where the emphasis is on outdoor handling, two GRENDiA FD25N diesel counterbalance trucks are doing the heavy lifting.

Not only are these the cleanest and most fuel-efficient IC engine trucks on the market, but they also come with a belly guard as standard. This is invaluable in an environment like Pecksniff’s as it prevents the cyclone effect that is a downside of most engine trucks, whereby dust is sucked from the floor and throw it into the air… only to settle on stock or, worse still, inside employees’ lungs.

Exceptionally adaptable for every application

Blue-spot reversing lights were specified to help create a safer working environment for nearby pedestrians, and all-weather roofs to enable indoor-outdoor operations. Small wonder that the trucks are proving popular with their operators.

Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks did a great job in specifying the perfect trucks for the different aspects of our operations. They are genuinely designed with the operator in mind, reducing strain and inspiring confidence. That’s important to us as an ethical company dedicated to the wellbeing of our staff as well as our customers.
