Furniture Village's rapid growth placed significant pressure on their existing warehouse facilities. With space constraints and increasing throughput demands, the business needed to enhance operational efficiency and equip their operations appropriately. The solution was a new National Distribution Centre in Milton Keynes – doubling capacity and creating a modern logistics hub designed to support continued expansion.

Faced with the challenge of rapid growth and limited space, Furniture Village made the strategic decision to invest in a new National Distribution Centre adjacent to their original site. This state-of-the-art facility now spans 164,000 square feet, with 25 dock doors and 10,500 pallet locations. Throughout the transition, Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks provided invaluable support, offering flexible short-term hire solutions and ensuring the timely delivery of essential equipment. Their responsiveness meant that even urgent requirements were met, keeping the warehouse running smoothly during a period of significant change.

Driving Efficiency, Enhancing Operations
The new NDC has transformed Furniture Village’s logistics, enabling greater stockholding and improved throughput. The introduction of Mitsubishi’s SENSiA EM reach trucks, EDiA EM electric counterbalance trucks, PREMiA EM powered pallet trucks, and VELiA EM order pickers, with a host of ergonomic features, has streamlined operations and enhanced safety. Battery changeover operations have been relocated to the new site, creating a safer and more efficient process. The NDC is supported by a full maintenance service contract, ensuring reliability and operational excellence across the network.
